Abstract
The article illustrates the application for the first time to the Italian reality of the work carried out by solution focused innovators such as Eve Lipchik, who proposed (1999; 2011) a new and original approach to consider solutions and strategies within a solution focused framework. This approach emphasizes the importance of empathy in brief therapy. For example, it highlights the need to consider whether a solution works well not only for the person proposing it, but also for their family, colleagues, and so on. In this case, using empathy and other social skills can help us find the best solutions for various situations, taking into account our needs as well as those of others. Through our experience of a European project on the use of empathy in daily life, we present our approach to working with groups and the insights that emerged during the various meetings.
